People commonly experience the power of the human spirit. Over a long period of time, peoples and cultures have come to recognise the human spirit as a reflection of the divine spirit, the Spirit of God. Christians refer to God’s spirit as the Holy Spirit. In this unit, you will be helped to recognise the signs of God’s Spirit at work in the world guiding and strengthening those who seek to live as God intends them to live. The unit provides you with the opportunity to study St Mark’s Gospel as a story of God’s Spirit empowering Christians to follow Jesus. You will consider, too, the role of Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church as a model disciple.

This will be a short week. The students will have a long, long weekend so that the senior students can prepare themselves for semester exams. The staff will be on retreat. During this week, we will spend a period meditating and journal writing; and we will commence our next assessment task which will be on the qualities and ideals of saints.
